Spinach Paratha Recipe | Palak Paratha | Keerai Parotta

                                                             Palak Parantha

Spinach Paratha is made from whole wheat flour and spinach. The other day I got 2 bunches of fresh palak from the vendor from which I made Spinach dal and stored some for making spinach paratha. Yesterday I made Spinach paratha for dinner. You can have parathas with any chutney or pickle or curd. Now to the recipe.

Ingredients :


   Wheat flour-1 cup 

   Spinach (washed and chopped finely) -1 cup
   Ajwain (Carom Seeds in English/Omam in Tamil ) - 1 tsp
   Milk to knead the dough
   Salt needed
   Oil- 2 tsp for dough

   
   Ginger garlic paste

   Green chilies - 2





Method :

1. Firstly, in a large vessel add enough water and get to boil
2. Add washed & chopped palak leaves, Boil it 1 minute.
3. Transfer the blanched palak into blender without adding water.
4. Add ginger garlic paste and green chili. cool completely.
5. Blend to smooth puree without adding any extra water.
6. In a large bowl take 1 cup of wheat flour.
7. Add ½ tsp ajwain, salt to taste and 2 tsp oil.
8. Add prepared palak puree.
9.  Combine well.
10. Add milk as required and knead for 5 minutes.
11. Keep it aside for 30 mins.
12. Pinch a medium sized ball dough, roll and flatten it.
13. Dust with some wheat flour.
14. Roll it in a thin circle like paratha.
15. Place the rolled paratha and cook for a minute on the hot tawa.
16. Flip the palak paratha.
17. Brush oil and press slightly.
18. flip again once or twice till both the sides are cooked properly.
     Serve palak parathas with dal, raita/ pickle.
