Jeera Rice Restaurant Style - Plain Cumin Rice

Jeera/Cumin Rice
Jeera rice is my all time favourite dish to make. I make it quite often to serve it with paneer or other spicy curries. Since it is very mild in flavour. It tastes yummy with spicy curries. I served this with Rajma and it tasted yummy.


Ingredients :

Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Ghee  - 2 tbsp
Jeera - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves - Chopped



Method :

  1. Wash and soak basmati rice for 30 mins. Drain and set aside & pressure cook it for  1 whistle. (Ratio : For 1 cup of rice 1½ cup of water)
  2. After it is done pour the cooked rice in a separate plate to avoid sticky rice.
  3.  Add ghee in a pan and put some cumin seeds. 
  4. After it splutters add cooked basmati rice and toss well.
  5. Add little salt, coriander leaves & mix well for 1-2 mins.
  6.  Serve Hot with spicy curries!!
