Chilli Mushroom Dry
I wanted to cook something with mushrooms, because I just bought them to prepare it as Valentine's Day Special Recipe for my hubby💓. And everybody knows that the most important rule with mushrooms is to use them up as quickly as possible, while they are super fresh. I wanted something quick, spicy and of course, different. So I made Chilli Mushroom/Mushroom 65 or whatever one may call it. .It was yummy, thats what i can say. I love all indo chinese foods, they are lip smackingly good.
Ingredients :
For Batter
- White Button Mushroom - 8-10
- All purpose flour/ Maida - 3 Tbsp
- Corn flour - 3 Tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp (as per taste)
- Salt - 1/4 tsp (as per taste)
- Soya Sauce - 1 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
- Oil - for frying
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
- Green Chilli – 2 chopped
- Soya Sauce – 2 tbsp
- Chilli Sauce - 2 tbsp
- Tomato Ketchup - 1 tbsp
- Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Onion - Half finely chopped
- Capsicum - Half Finely chopped
- First, lightly wash the mushroom under tap water. Use a paper napkin to wipe off any remaining dirt from the mushrooms. Use a dry paper napkin to completely pat dry the mushroom. Cut it into quarter.
- Add all the other remaining ingredients (Mentioned above under Ingredients for batter) to a mixing bowl, except the oil. Give a quick mix. Add water little by little to make a medium thick batter.
- Add the chopped mushrooms to the batter. Give a nice toss to make sure the batter completely coats the mushroom Let it sit for 10 mins. Meanwhile, heat oil in a kadai for frying.
- Once the oil is hot, fry the mushrooms in medium flame in batches until nicely crisp and done. Transfer to a paper napkin.
- Now drain most of the oil and keep some oil in.
- Add in onions, capsicum, ginger garlic paste, green chilli & Saute for a min
- Add in soya sauce, salt, chilli sauce, pepper powder, tomato ketchup.
- Add in fried mushroom & toss well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and spring onion (Optional).
- Serve Hot as a starter!!!
