Potato Cheese Sandwich - Grilled Potato Sandwich - Indian Style Aaloo Masala Cheese Sandwich




Aloo Masala Cheese Sandwich

Potato Sandwiches give a different dimension to grilled cheese sandwich. They are delicious and add an Indian taste to standard grilled cheese. Potato & cheese sandwiches are excellent choice for a hearty and satisfying lunch. If you don't have a sandwich toaster you can make this toast on tawa. 
Let us move on to the recipe.

Ingredients:
  1. 8 slices of white bread ( I have used white bread, You can use any of your choice)
  2. 4 medium size potatoes boiled, peeled & mashed
  3. 1 onion finely chopped 
  4. 2 tbsp chopped coriander 
  5. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 
  6. 1 tbsp chopped green chili 
  7. ½ tsp cumin seeds 
  8. ½ tsp turmeric
  9. ½ tsp red chilli powder
  10. ½ tsp dhania powder
  11. ½ tsp garam masala
  12. ½ tsp salt
  13. 2 tsp of melted butter
  14. 4 slices of cheese

Method: 

  1.  Add oil to a pan & heat, add cumin seeds once it splutters, add finely chopped onions,green chillies, ginger garlic paste to it & saute it till they turn golden. 
  2. Add mashed boiled potatoes along with turmeric, red chilli powder, dhania powder, garam masala and chopped coriander leaves.
  3. Saute everything well till you get a nice aroma of the masala. Everything should blend well.
  4. Apply butter on one side of the bread for the crust.
  5. Spread the prepared masala in a thin layer and place one slice of cheese above the prepared masala & Cover it with another slice of bread. 
  6. Toast in tawa on both the sides & Serve Hot!!! 
Suggestions :
  1. Slice them in small squares and serve them as snack.
  2. You may use leftover dry vegetables like Aloo Gobi (potatoes with cauliflower) or Aloo jeera, matar (peas), mash the left over vegetables and follow the same steps.
  3. You can also use a multigrain,brown or whole wheat bread of your choice.
