Bread Poha

Bread Poha is a unique creation, the recipe for which I learnt from my mom. Bread Poha is made out of Bread. The ingredients used are similar to regular poha as well, like onions, tomatoes with other spices. Bread Poha tastes great and is a good option for your daily breakfast, top it with some fresh coriander leaves and ketchup. Ingredients :
Servings - 2

  •    Bread - 10 slices 
  •    Onion- 2 medium size slice lengthwise
  •    Tomato - 2 medium size finely chopped
  •    Capsicum - You can add finely chopped capsicum.(optional)
  •    Green chilli - 2 slit
  •    Ginger Garlic Paste  -1/2 tsp 
  •    Turmeric powder - a pinch
  •    Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  •    Dhania Powder - 2 tsp
  •    Oil/Butter - 2 tsps for toasting bread
  •    Salt to taste
  •    Oil - 2 1/2 tsp
  •    Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  •    Curry leaves - few

Method :
  • Roast the bread until golden brown on both the sides by applying little oil/butter. Cut the bread slices into small squares.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add onions, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, curry leaves and saute until onions turn transparent.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, dhania powder, salt needed and cook until tomatoes are soft.
  • Then add bread pieces and toss until bread is well coated with the masala.
  • Serve hot.You can have this even as a breakfast/snack along with sauce/ketchup
