My Best Ever Cooking Competition - Goldwinner India 2023

Have you ever been to a cooking competition? or Have watched cooking shows on TV? you must have wondered what it’s like to be part of it. Well, I had the chance to give it a try myself and I’m going to share my experience with you.

I recently attended Goldwinner Cook Fest 2023, Honestly, it was an amazing experience to be a part of this festival. Food plays a vital part in every region and such fests helps in enhancing the knowledge,experience & creates a bond about other regions and their culture.

Cooking was supposed to be done at home and the registration was free.

I had to think about what is my signature dish? I also had to provide a recipe explanation within 1 min. I have always loved Indian dishes for they are typically prepared with a lot of flavour and spices.

We can cook any cuisine that showcases the use of Goldwinner Oil. I decided to prepare a nice and exotic South Indian Delicacy with 5 dishes on a Banana Leaf

Location: Bharatiya City Mall, Bangalore

All the participants took their places and we were seated with our families and friends who were cheering on. It was fun. The whole place smelled wonderful with the aroma of spices.

We were given 15 mins to present our dishes on the leaf. The countdown began and soon everyone hustled to get their dishes plated perfectly.

It was really cool to have Chef Vikas Pathak we then had to present our dishes to the Chef. It was a pretty sight to have all the participating teams display their work. There was lot of creativity and efforts involved and we had a great time. 

My proud moment was when Chef Vikas Pathak appreciated my dessert (Sakkara Pongal) that my dessert has a very balanced taste. He tasted all of my dishes and appreciated for the efforts put.

My Southern Platter

Fest was so interactive, that anyone could go up to the participants and talk to them about their dish. The judges were there to motivate the participants as they have cooked effortlessly. We were really impressed with the kind of food everyone was cooking. It was a perfect evening.

Prize Distribution

Prize was announced for top 15 contestants. Happy to let you all know that I was one among the top 10 :) The food was overall great and the evening ended with a great and happy vibe. Everyone had a really great time.
